Liang Sim is an aerospace business strategy leader with two decades of international experience spanning strategy development and implementation, product development, business development, management consulting, operations, and engineering. He is an expert in launch services, human spaceflight, space tourism, in-space business opportunities, satellite services, and mission control operator training. He is also an expert in commercial airplane product strategy, product development, freighter (cargo) airplane markets, pilot and mechanic training, passenger airplane features, and commercial aviation aftermarket services.

From 2021-2024, Liang led business strategy for Blue Origin’s launch vehicle and space station divisions, where he spearheaded Blue’s pricing and go-to-market strategy for multi-billion-dollar launch services proposals and restructured the space station business plan to achieve a 25% reduction in investment costs and payback period. He also led a 12-person technical team training 150+ mission control operators and maintenance technicians for the New Shepard suborbital launch vehicle.

Before Blue Origin, Liang spent a decade (2011-20) at Boeing Commercial Airplanes in various leadership roles including new airplane product development, international business development, and commercial services strategy. Before Boeing, he was a senior associate at global management consulting firms Charles River Associates (Boston, MA) and L.E.K. Consulting (Sydney and Singapore), where he advised clients on business strategy and merger/acquisition engagements.

Liang holds an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
